3.2/162
I'm strongly considering a retake in Feb. My practice scores were in the 165-168 range, I got killed on 2 games (22 questions wrong on the exam, 10 on the games alone) but I'm looking at these schools. I have an upward trending GPA.
Reach:
Minnesota
Emory
WUSTL
Targets:
George Mason
Alabama
Indiana
Safety:
St. John's
SMU
American
I'm open to suggestions also. Thanks!

I'm not sure but I'm thinking Alabama and Indiana are more reach schools than target schools. I would also count SMU as more of a target than a safety. Unless you are an URM?

DEFINITELY retake! LG is the most "learnable" portion of the test; you can easily get -0 through proper diagramming.
Any chance you can wait a cycle and apply next fall? If you apply in February, most scholarship $$$ will already be gone.

I'm not URM and my residency is NY.
Next cycle is an option, not the preferred one though. I was thinking of applying ED to Minnesota for this cycle to see if they'll bite, and retaking for next year if they don't. I would feel alot more comfortable with a 164 or a 165 for that though. I know February puts me out of most scholarship money, but, that is less of a concern for me for various reasons.
I've also heard that this is supposed to be an "easier" cycle, not sure what is meant by that though.

Even though it is going to be an easier cycle (I guess), I don't think that means that your target schools should consist of three schools that you are below or well-below both medians. When I was making my list I considered target schools to be schools I was at median for at least LSAT or GPA.nyjets2090 wrote:I'm not URM and my residency is NY.

Re: 3.2/162
Retake is your only option. You should be able to improve your LG score significantly with more work and maybe a tutor. Just imagine what your score would've been if you got only 4-5 wrong, or even less. You should not apply to law school with -10 on LG.

Have you considered part time on any of those schools? That may be an option then without a retake.
