What are my odds? I just applied EA. Strong WE, strong softs, really strong recs.

Could go either way. With applications down u have a shot especially with you being in-state. Probably looking at WL and maybe admit if well qualified Texas residents are lacking. I know last cycle a 3.6/165 tx resident got in off the waitlist after being flat out denied.

Chances are not great, you have to retake. Also go ahead and assume that your softs are just as mediocre as everyone else's. Also lawschoolnumbers.com.

I'd love to attend Texas, but I'm content at Emory. My plan right now is to try and see if I can sneak in on a weak cycle and if I'm still on the waitlist in february to try and retake then. Is that a decent plan?

Holla at ya boy. I wouldn't say this is the norm though and things change from year to year. I wish I would've retaken and eliminated the doubt fwiw

Is February too late? I don't feel prepared for December. I also have a the president of the Texas alumni associate writing me a letter. I knew his daughter from college and she got me set up with him. But I don't really know him so I'm not sure how much that will be worth...

Hard to say, wasn't in the same position. I took June and then discovered the oft-quoted RETAKE mantra of TLS after I had already applied in Dec. I didn't have anyone important write my recs, just UT profs. I would guess admissions offices will be more prepared for the drop in applicants this year to avoid scenarios like mine, so it's really hard to call in this situation other than you have a chance. How big of a chance that is, is kind of a mystery
