HYPOTHETICAL: Rolling admissions + sub/ Median= Now OR Then?

Post by JEDyessir » Fri Nov 02, 2012 12:05 am

I'll be as brief as possible:
I'm in a gigantic bind right now. Huge. (Retake or not, given this current cycle?)

{Note: For all that follows, assume a hypothetical school ranked placed 40-90, where data about the submitted application to the school pertains to medians that particular school has. And, Assume: male, non-URM, GPA 3.6, and no other flaws in application.}

Here's the context of the pickle: Please rank these hypothetical applications in order of probability of admission:

1) A mid-November submitted application with:
-13 points off the median LSAT (i.e. like ~12.5 percentile for the school's LSAT)

2) An early January submitted application with:
-A 25th percentile LSAT (for the schools median LSAT).

3) A mid-March submitted application with:
-A very close to median LSAT (for the schools median LSAT).

Answering this question involves the comparison of these three variables:
a) Rolling admissions
b) LSAT score
c) A supposed down in apps this year '12/'13 (rumor)
Conjoined with, d) everything else decently good to go with the application (GPA, letters, PS, etc)

Please solve the paradox! Please!
Which application is best?

3. Each and every time. Unless you throw in $$$ into the mix, in which case:

4. Retake in June, and again in October (2013) if necessary.

ETA: Actual #'s and schools wanting chanced would help greatly here.

Thanks for the response. Honestly? The schools are too many to list, so I went with the hypothetical school's median approach.

We're talking about, theoretically, schools ranked 40-100.

1) this isn't a paradox you ignorant slut.

2) Number 3, obviously.

3) There is no such thing as a T40-90 school.

4) Don't go to a shitty school.
