Don't want to go to any of those schools. I'm from NY and want to stay there for my career. IMO, Cornell gives me a fine shot at NYC biglaw.Doorkeeper wrote:NYU- Rejected/WL

Pretty harsh on your Penn prediction. 169 and 3.7 are likely their new medians in this down cycle.

I doubt Penn's LSAT median dropped, and there's no way their GPA median dropped that much. Also Penn RD is pretty rough.

Idk man, aren't application down like 18%? That's a big drop. I skated into Gtown with my numbers, so I'm of the opinion that right now anything is possible save HYS.Crowing wrote:I doubt Penn's LSAT median dropped, and there's no way their GPA median dropped that much. Re: Predict the rest of my cycle
There's a big difference between Penn and Gtown. You are at the gtown lsat median and slightly below the gpa. You are below both medians at penn.Chickensoup wrote:Idk man, aren't application down like 18%? That's a big drop. Re: Predict the rest of my cycle
You are probably right about Penn, but you have to admit--this down cycle makes things interesting. With applications down so dramatically, we really have no idea what the median for admitted applicants will be for this cycle. 169 certainly does not seem impossible.Ruxin1 wrote:There's a big difference between Penn and Gtown. You'll probably get 45 or 60k from Cornell - so that's probably where you'll end up you.

We don't know how much apps are down since Oct / Dec are the most popular administrations.Chickensoup wrote:Idk man, aren't application down like 18%? That's a big drop. True, for 60K, I'd jump on that train. Unless I get into NYU ED, of course.Ruxin1 wrote:You'll probably get 45 or 60k from Cornell - so that's probably where you'll end up you.

NYU: Out
Duke: Good shot, i'd guess around 40%
Penn: No chance
Fordham: In with money

That's from the last two cycles. You have a better shot at NYU than Penn because of the ED, but I would expect a WL or Rejection from both unless you have some awesome softs.

Re: Predict the rest of my cycle
Yeah, that would indicate that admission to Penn is very unlikely. I'm just wondering what the effects of the down cycle will be. Is there a chance that they totally flip things upside down?Doorkeeper wrote:http://myLSN.info/bmkn3nChickensoup wrote:Don't want to go to any of those schools. Last cycle saw a substantial decline in applications without any real game changers in terms of admissions standards, at least in the T-14. We don't yet know if apps will continue to drop for this cycle.Chickensoup wrote:I'm just wondering what the effects of the down cycle will be. Do you think you come across as well in your applications as you do in your TLS posts?
I'm in at Duke with worse stats and you're around both medians so you should be good there.

Re: Predict the rest of my cycle
I clearly don't come across too poorly. I got in at Gtown and Cornell. You TLSers are a very finicky bunch. I'd almost venture to guess that how well one is received on TLS is negatively correlated with how well one does financially.BigZuck wrote:Do you think you come across as well in your applications as you do in your TLS posts?

Re: Predict the rest of my cycle
If you want someone to tell you that you are going to get into Penn which you seem to be pandering for then here, you will get into Penn.
No chance, WL at best and you won't get off of it. They will mow through their list of splitters before they go for someone who is a straight up hindrance to both medians

Oh my god. I've never been more offended in my life. How ever will I be able to cope knowing that I am nothing but a STRAIGHT UP HINDRANCE TO BOTH MEDIANS?

Re: Predict the rest of my cycle
The real question is how Penn will deal with you being a hindrance to both medians. And you've gotten your answer to that. Sorry that it's not what you want to hear.Chickensoup wrote:2014 wrote:If you want someone to tell you that you are going to get into Penn which you seem to be pandering for then here, you will get into Penn.
