2.5 gpa 160 LSAT
I am a history major at usf with a 2.5 gpa that could go up a little if I decide to stay and take summer instead of graduating this spring. No work expiernce. I haven't taken the LSAT yet but get a 170 consistently on practice test so I'm hoping that when I take the actual test in feb I can atleast pull a 160. My dream law school is UVA ( major reach) or University of Wisconsin another reach. Other schools I'm looking at are UF, FSU, UGA, bama, south carolina, wake forest, and possibly west virgina. Stand a chance at any? Another question is do any of these schools have spring start I would like to start in fall but with late graduation doesn't seem likely I would be able to. Thanks so much for any info

you aren't getting into UVA, sorry, unless you get a perfect score or close to it on the LSAT. Even then, it is far from guaranteed. The rest are possible, but not until you kill it on the LSAT. With a 2.5 you have dug yourself a hole, but with a high enough score you can get into most schools outside of the top 6.

Play with these,
http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com
http://www.mylsn.info
Youll need a median or above LSAT to have a chance at most schools.
Here are last cycles medians,

You should expect similar medians this cycle.

Not good mate. No school you're likely to get into is worth the money to attend. Don't go to law school.
edit: I just read your post. You are PTing at 170. Your title misled me into believing you were expecting a 160. If you get a 170, you should consider going to law school.
T20s to 30s are your range. GW, BC, BU, Fordham. Any other school in this range has perilous employment prospects. Don't go to any of these schools if your total educational debt upon graduation will be greater than 150k. Therefore, you must get a scholarship. If you don't, don't go to law school.

Are you really suggesting that GW is a particularly good law school? Other schools many not place as well in the NLJ, but they don't have to hire 115 graduates (from one class, no less.)manofjustice wrote:Not good mate. Due to the OP's numbers, acceptable scholarships to these schools are extremely unlikely.

GW's okay...any of those schools could hire the same portion of its own class. And I know OP might get a scholly...even a big one, since 170 would be above median at all. It just depends on how desperate the schools are. One of these schools is probably desperate enough next cycle. My money is on Fordham after their last cycle. But all 4 won't. So OP is gonna have to be ready to take whichever school offers him the best deal.Aberzombie1892 wrote:Are you really suggesting that GW is a particularly good law school?
