155 LSAT, 3.23 LSAC GPA
I saw my LSAT score today, 155. Although I know it's nothing to brag about, I feel pretty good since my highest PT had been a 152 and I was certain I'd score between 148-150 range. I am highly considering an October retake, and I'm sure if I studied my ass of between now and then I'd be in the 160s range, but I want to get an idea of where these numbers will allow me to go.
I have a 3.62 uGPA at the school I attend now (Akron). My first attempt at community college left me with 3 Fs and a D which explains the LSAC gpa. Akron Law is actually my choice school because it's 1 mile away from me. According to LSACs site Akron accepted students with LSAT scores of 155-158 in 2011 and GPAs of 3.29-3.69. LSAC states I have a 68%-78% chance of acceptance there. Does this sound about right?
Besides Akron, what other schools will take this number range? I know someone with these numbers ideally should retake according to everything I've ever read on here, but if they didn't where could they go?

Good to hear you will retake. Definitely do. It will let you get better options. Even if schools like these take you it won't be at an acceptable price.

The only T3 in Ohio MAYBE worth considering is Cleveland State. And that's not a great option without in state + scholly.
Dedicate yourself to studying. It's doable. I went from a 157 to a 163 between my 1st and 2nd attempt. Though that's not great, you'd be amazed what that 160 barrier can do for you.

Thanks, yeah leaning towards the retake. However, if I can get into Akron with a 155/3.2, I'm paying about $60,000 total at sticker price which is pretty good for 3 years and maybe I can relax and coast through my final semester of UG without stressing over another LSAT. Plus I hear the curve at Akron causes a lot of students to lose their scholly's during 2L, so I'm questioning if it's even worth it to get a few $k knocked off.TTTehehe wrote:top30man wrote:Good to hear you will retake. From what I've heard, the curve at Akron also causes a lot of people to flunk out. [/i

this is my story. I had a 155/3.05, but I retook and reapplied.. My thread covers my cycle with the 155, and then all the studying and prep i put into my two retakes. I retook last June, and this past October, and I really could not be happier with results. You really should retake...it's so worth it.
