Hello, I have a 3.7 GPA and 166 on the LSAT. I also have reasonable softs. I am the captain of the debate team. The president of a student political organization and the youngest executive board member of a local non-profit.
I am happy to work in the state of Indiana but hope to do public interest work and thus need to have little debt. Taking this into account will I likely get much support at IUB of would I aim for money at IUI?
Also is their a higher ranked school that I would be justified in applying to? Based on stats I feel that Northwestern and Georgetown are the only locations that I have any shot at and maybe shouldn't even send in apps?
Finally, is there a peer school I should apply to as a means of pressuring IUB for money?
Thanks for any help
RB

Are you from Indiana? also some schools have special scholarships for PI students. I know Fordham is one of them that is reasonable for your numbers. Also, I had your numbers. I retook because a 166 is a tough spot in regards to schools. It will get you t30s with money but not enough money to be worth it. Three more points got me a full ride at a t20 and $$$ at a t14. I would seriously consider it.

I hit as high as 172 in pt's but was trying to feel out what I can do with my current stats. If its not good enough for a scholly at IU I will defiantly consider a retake.top30man wrote:Are you from Indiana? also some schools have special scholarships for PI students. Also I am from Indiana. I stayed in state because of a full ride out of high school and wouldn't mind doing the same; though I would happily leave the state for a T1 full scholly or a particularly well ranked school.

Apply to Cornell. If accepted, then use it to bargain with lower ranked law schools.
WashUStL may offer a decent scholarship based on your numbers. Minnesota is another that might be generous. Consider Emory, GWU & Wash & Lee for scholarship money if they fit with your future plans.
