3.1 169, any shot at UVA?
Figured there will be a shit ton of these today, but here goes. 3.1, 169, 2 years WE. Any shot at UVA ED or does less than 170 mean auto deny?

Not auto-ding, but definitely a long long shot, especially if you aren't from VA.emarxnj wrote:Figured there will be a shit ton of these today, but here goes. 3.1, 169, 2 years WE. Any shot at UVA ED or does less than 170 mean auto deny?

I do not think so. Are you a VA resident?
I got waitlisted ED with a 3.7x/169

It won't be the 169 that hurts you OP (I'm attending with the same score and got a nice scholarship). The GPA makes you a long shot.

I would say you have almost no chance at UVA. My advice would be to retake, get a 170+ and ED at MVP if you're willing to pay sticker.

The 169 definitely hurts him... If that was turned into a 173 or 174 he'd have a great shot.bobbyh1919 wrote:It won't be the 169 that hurts you OP (I'm attending with the same score and got a nice scholarship). The GPA makes you a long shot.

About what I figured. Thanks guys. LSP has me at a weak consider, so if I end up applying in the fall, I'll still take a shot at it I suppose. Anyone wanna chance me at WUSTL?

Yeah I was under the impression breaking 171 or so would give me a strong chance with ED. Really stuck on retaking, -3 total between LR/RC and -7 in LG. Not sure if I could repeat that performance on LR/RC, but I know I can do much better on games.Greenandgold wrote:The 169 definitely hurts him... I would say you're virtually a foot in, but if you want biglaw I would seriously advise against going to WUSTTTL.emarxnj wrote:About what I figured. Thanks guys. Good to know. Now I gotta decide if I want to give up on working in NYC.top30man wrote:In with $$$. >168 in, usually with money.emarxnj wrote:About what I figured. Thanks guys. Yeah, I do want biglaw (i'm a special snowflake). Guess I gotta make some decisions. I'm also considering just grabbing what I assume will be a nearly full ride at Rutgers, and work my connections in NJ (life time resident) but NYC biglaw is what I want most.dpk711 wrote:I would say you're virtually a foot in, but if you want biglaw I would seriously advise against going to WUSTTTL.emarxnj wrote:About what I figured. To clarify: yes, the 169 hurts OP. I was talking about, in the context of your numbers, it will be the GPA you'll have to overcome and it would be wise to retake and aim for a 172+.

Not sure if that's a given with the GPA. I am 3.95/169 and got a near full ride offer from Newark (where I'm assuming you're most interested in) and about a half scholly from Camden.emarxnj wrote:Yeah, I do want biglaw (i'm a special snowflake). Unless OP has a criminal record or applies really late, he is almost certainly in at WUSTL.bobbyh1919 wrote:Not sure if that's a given with the GPA. Idk much about WUSTL so no comment, I was just referring to OP's stated interest at Rutgers.

If you want big law you should certainly retake for a t14. UVA, GULC, Northwestern are certainly in play with a 170 or higher.emarxnj wrote:Yeah, I do want biglaw (i'm a special snowflake). Yeah, my performance on games is really nagging me. If I can repeat like I did on LR/RC, and improve that games score, I'd be a happy man. Thing is, I just don't know if I can repeat. I guess I have some time to think about it, UVA is pretty much my dream school so I'd pay sticker (with some help from parents), another retake is just weighing heavily on me at the moment.
This isn't the forum for this kind of question, but is anyone aware of a sticky or any special advice for a third LSAT, considering I've used up all my most recent materials.
