3.71/166
Strong ties to Chicago (grew up here, whole family is here, etc.), would like to end up in midwest but not a deal breaker if I could get into a school that gives me a significantly better shot at biglawl.
1.) Any chance at Michigan?
2.) Where else would you recommend I apply to (and use my ED at)?

I think you have a great shot at UMN, WUSTL, and ND. Good shot at BC/BU/Fordham too.

Sorry, your chances at Michigan are almost zero. The only people who got in with numbers like that were URMs: http://michigan.lawschoolnumbers.com/ap ... ,8&type=jd
Right now you have a good shot of getting in somewhere in the USC/BU/BC/Fordham range but I don't think it's wise to relocate yourself and take out a lot of loans for those schools, which offer something like a 30-40%ish shot at Biglaw. An ED wouldn't help much for any T-14 schools 'cause you're under both medians at almost all of them. You might have a chance at Cornell RD, though. I don't think someone with your numbers should ED.
You might not want to hear this, but you probably need to retake if you think you can do any better. 2 more points should get you decent $$-$$$ at the schools I mentioned above. 3 more points and you have a very good shot at Michigan, and the rest of the T-14 comes into play.

If you want Chicago retake, get 5 more points and enjoy Northwestern.Paraflam wrote:Strong ties to Chicago (grew up here, whole family is here, etc.), would like to end up in midwest but not a deal breaker if I could get into a school that gives me a significantly better shot at biglawl.

I got a $25K scholly at BC with similar numbers. However you'd still need to take ~30K/yr loans = ~90K-100K total(adjusted for tuition increases, etc.) Waitlisted at BU and WUSTL. In at ND with and IU-B.Paraflam wrote:Strong ties to Chicago (grew up here, whole family is here, etc.), would like to end up in midwest but not a deal breaker if I could get into a school that gives me a significantly better shot at biglawl.

Figured michigan was probably out of the question. Is going to ND or Illinois with $$ a decent decision? Would not mind Cornell either, even though COA would be huge.
Don't think I'm going to retake, I had 5 straight 167s on PTs going into the real thing, and felt I gave it everything I had. I just don't think I could get my head into it again, enough so to do better than this test, at least.
