Re: GPA 3.96, LSAT 169
tfleming has the TCR and all, but I'll add:
How much did you study for the LSAT? Your GPA is HYS quality, but your LSAT is going to hold you back. If you think you have a shot at a 173, you have got to retake. Think of it as earning your hundreds of thousands of dollars in either added lifetime income or tuition you won't have to pay.
And what do you mean by IP? Hard or soft? Do you have a B.S.?

Re: GPA 3.96, LSAT 169
Falling a few points is no big deal. They'll just take the higher score. If you were PTing in the 172-175 range, then you should absolutely retake. Your GPA is high enough to get you in anywhere. The higher the LSAT, the better the school and more money you can get. No reason not to retake.yogi1467 wrote:Thanks for the feedback, Elston. I have a BS in Chemistry and Biology - I was thinking about med school for a while. I want to study IP law, maybe sit for the patent bar eventually, not sure.
I was PTing in the 172-175 range and could probably pull off a 173, but I'm a little uneasy about a retake because of the chance that I might score lower than a 169.

Yes, exactly. No one cares about retakes.dixon02 wrote:Falling a few points is no big deal. They'll just take the higher score. Lower than a 169 after extra prep time would certainly indicate "not 170+", but nothing more. Work your ass off, score even a couple points higher and profit away, my friend. If on the off-chance you score lower, definitely retake a third time. The legal market is a deck stacked against you, and you have no reason not to reach for the highest card. You're already IPsecure, so focus on retaking for a higher LSAT and getting $$$. No T14 is going to give much money to a 169.
