Re: Bombed retake. 166-159. Need advice
5 months total huh? Honestly, law school isn't going anywhere. Why don't you try studying a whole year for this 3rd try and retake again next June? If not, you still have your 166.Trout et al wrote:3.95 GPA
no special softs but should get great LOR's
Studied for 5 months total for my two scores. I took over 30 PT's and was averaging 168. so I decided to retake my Feb 166. I bombed it and got a 159.
My original plan was to ED to duke or UVA but now with this 159 on my record as a retake it seems like a pipe dream. I want a big firm job in the south or ny. ties to NC
How bad will this 159 hurt me? Is the 159 going to put me out of the running for cash at lower tier-1's like Wake/UNC even with my first 166?
Will I get into UVA ED with earliest possible app? I really wanted Vandy/Cornell with $ but that seems unlikely at this point so UVA ED seems like the best bet and if I don't get in I will think about 3rd retake.
Any thoughts?

In retrospect, with PTs averaging just 168, why did you retake a 166 ?
Although a 166 to a 159 looks bad, it's still the 166 that counts.
P.S. Are you a Virginia resident ?

Contact LSDAS & tell them that your dog ate your cancellation request form.
Otherwise, just focus on your 166.
