165 diagnostic lsat
Just took my first diagnostic/practice test lsat. I scored a 165. Realistically, how much can I expect to raise my score with some hardcore studying.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Yes. Timed. And taken back to back with no breaks.
No fun.

If 165 is your first try cold, there's no reason you can't score 170+, probably even into the mid 170s. I started in the low 150's and scored a 168, so there's a lot of room for improvement.

Definitely a ton of room for improvement. I went from a 150-something the first time to a 171 with some decent studying, but not as much as some of the people on this site put in. You're in a pretty good place.

IMO, scoring around the 93rd percentile without studying at all means anything less than a 99th percentile score on the real deal would be a disappointment.emkd26 wrote:Just took my first diagnostic/practice test lsat. Yeah you should really be aiming 173+. My diagnostic was 164, and was practice testing high 170s for the last couple months. I had a mildly disappointing test day and got a 174. My advice is to prep to a point where even your disappointing scores will be good enough to get you where you want to go.Nova wrote:IMO, scoring around the 93rd percentile without studying at all means anything less than a 99th percentile score on the real deal would be a disappointment.emkd26 wrote:Just took my first diagnostic/practice test lsat. I went up 18 points by studying somewhat for 3 months. I took 16+ practice tests and did the bibles. No classes or anything. I think I could've done even better, but I got in where I wanted with a good package and outperformed my numbers.emkd26 wrote:Just took my first diagnostic/practice test lsat. I scored a 165. I wish I started at 165! You'll be fine. Good luck.

Debbie Downer here: I had a 165 cold diagnostic and got two 170s, and I studied a decent amount the second time.Nova wrote:IMO, scoring around the 93rd percentile without studying at all means anything less than a 99th percentile score on the real deal would be a disappointment.emkd26 wrote:Just took my first diagnostic/practice test lsat. You'll crack the 99th percentile this time.

157 diag, 166 fuck up in oct., waiting june results (foreverrrrr) but i was PTing at 173-177 this time around. i think 173+ as suggested above should absolutely be in reach.
