3.75/160

Post by BuffMasterFlex » Fri Jun 01, 2012 8:10 pm

Hi all,

I have a 3.75 GPA from a top 30 undergraduate school where I majored in Politics, and I scored a 160 on my LSAT. I'm not an URM, but I have great LORs along with plenty of leadership experience in Greek life. What are my chances at Brooklyn, Cardozo, and Fordham?

You need to retake, too good of a GPA to waste on a 160, what did you do for prep first go around?

Very weak at Fordham (below 25th LSAT percentile), "better" at Cardozo (still weak--well below median LSAT) and "best" chance (still not a great one--just at 25th LSAT percentile) at BLS.

You've got a solid GPA. Retake is your best bet--for these schools and for better ones. Even if you manage to get into these schools, I doubt you'll get good scholarship money.

I had almost the exact same stats, retook, jumped my score up and ended up in a way better position. You have plenty of time, use it and retake! It's absolutely absolutely worth it.

I've got similar stats, and didn't get a lot of love from the NYC schools. I did have quite a few other options in the T30, with significant $$.... for some reason the NYC's didn't have much love for a reverse splitter.

+1. Retake in October. You have nothing to lose and a lot of $$$ to gain.

I should edit this and say I am retaking on Monday...

Depending on your financial situation, there are two ways to go about it. You can sit out a full year, study for the LSAT and kill it this time. OR- You can apply this cycle and take the lsat in parallel, that way if you ended up not improving you're not sitting out an additional year.

You've clearly never had to manage and collect $300,000 from a bunch of college dudes.

You're fucking missing the point. No one cares that you did this.
Also, it's Not tough collecting checks and buying kegs.

In my opinion, the only school there you want to go to is Fordham. BLS and Cardozo are risky propositions.

Are you in NYC? There's a ton of good test prep companies there. Pick one, raise your score 5 or 6 points and get money from Fordham
