Excellent chance if you get that 171 or higher

Here are URMs with less than 3.5 GPAs and 167+ LSATs.

Bro, you're looking at Stanford on down if you can get a 171+ on dat LSAT. We're numbers/urm twin so I'm interested to see how ours both play out.txdude45 wrote:I'm an AA male, 3.2 GPA from Yale University, officer in my fraternity, should have decent recs, will graduate a 4-time varsity letterman and have had a couple decent internships (both in finance). Haven't taken the LSAT yet (will on the 11th), but I got a 171 on the Kaplan diagnostic before I started my course.
Obviously HYS would be 3 dream options, but I'd like to get into NYU, Columbia, or UTexas-Austin(I'm from TX).

Rad: he's an AA male, if they haven't been on TLS or talked to the few people who really understand admissions for them then its worth it for him to ask here.
OP:
Coming from Yale with a 3.1 and the rest of your extracurr. you'll have a great shot at one of HYS as long as you break 170... Of course that's easier said then done so really put some time into prepping for the test and retake if need be, it'll be worth it in the end.

OP is a softs guru but I think y'all are being a little overly optimistic considering his GPA and how big of pricks HYS are about GPA.
OP, score 170 plus and you will get some great offers for sure.

Get a real LSAT score. Then use LSN and LSP to get a general idea of where you stand. Sometimes URM info is more difficult to find due to various things. Most people say URM splitter cycles are sporadic so when you do get a real score and, assuming it is as high or higher than you hope, start a new thread.
Until then keep studying for the 11th and enjoy LSN.

They are in most cases but in the case of URM admissions its a unique situation. There things like what school you attended and if you have one of either: 3.8+ GPA or 170+ LSAT can make a huge difference. For example there are multiple T20 UG, 3.0, 172+ AA males that get into HLS.Tom Joad wrote:OP is a softs guru but I think y'all are being a little overly optimistic considering his GPA and how big of pricks HYS are about GPA.

Granted, I don't pay much attention to URM admissions.JamMasterJ wrote:nah, Gaia posts all the time about kids with those types of stats getting into HTom Joad wrote:OP is a softs guru but I think y'all are being a little overly optimistic considering his GPA and how big of pricks HYS are about GPA.
