Top 30 Law School
Hello All,
I have currently been waitlisted from and rejected from several top 30 law schools. LSAT is 154 and gpa is 3.80 I am wondering if any of the schools will admit students with a high gpa but low lsat. Why would some schools waitlist and some schools reject students like me? Also, why would a top school admit a student with a low lsat - wouldn't it hurt their ranking and reputation?
WashU - Waitlisted
Emory - Waitlisted
BC - Rejected
Fordham - Rejected

How much time did you spend studying for the LSAT? Don't waste that GPA with that LSAT score.

Why would a top 30 school waitlist or admit (if it happens) a student like me? Wouldn't the low lsat hurt their rankings?

Agreed. With a 3.8 and a solid LSAT score (160+) you could potentially get into some really good schools. I'd retake the LSAT, but study more strategically the second time around.zozin wrote:How much time did you spend studying for the LSAT? Don't waste that GPA with that LSAT score.

I was just asking why these schools would admit someone like me (if they do), why a school would admit a reverse splitter when it could hurt ranking?

Because they will then admit some slacker with a 2.9/168 to balance you out.sportsstar1234 wrote:I was just asking why these schools would admit someone like me (if they do), why a school would admit a reverse splitter when it could hurt ranking?

Lol. Yes.
Op, retake the LSAT. Use the same level of dedication you did in undergrad on the LSAT and I'm sure you will be fine. The LSAT is arguably more important than 4 years of college. You should treat it as such.

Worth noting that OP was admitted to Emory with a 3.8/154 non-URM. Applications are down this year so opportunities are up for marginal candidates & splitters/reverse splitters & full pay students.
