3.4 LSDAS, 171 LSAT, Mexican American Male, trying to stay in CA but open to the east coast.

Stanford is out.
Berkeley is a big reach?
Decent chances at UCLA/USC with $$?

Also, I know the west coast is GPA heavy so what are my best out of state options with a reasonable chance of getting in? NYU would be nice haha

I would blanket basically everything short of the top 3. California has some sort of different URM rule that doesn't give as much as a boost as other schools if I recall correctly, but you probably have a solid shot at Berkeley.

I'm also MA, 171 LSAT, and I had a slightly higher GPA than you (3.63). I got dinged at Berkeley, accepted at UCLA with $45K not counting need-based aid, and waitlisted/withdrew from USC.

I didn't apply until late January though, so if you get your application in early, that'll make a difference, and I'm not a CA resident.

Will you let me know where you got in? I have similar stats except for my LSAT score. Berkley's my dream school, too.

Hope you get it!
