Money at a T14? Forum

I applied late this year and got mostly WL'd. I know y'all will tell me to retake the LSAT and try again next year, BUT: I'm 35 yo.
If I can bump my LSAT up to, say 165 (I hope I could do better, but I'm not quite as sharp as I used to be), what schools do I have a chance for major $$$?

UPDATE: Right now I'm seriously considering BU @ ~$85k COA. Worth it? I'm not sure I can get a lot of T14 scholly money with my LSAT even if I wait a year. (I have very little GI Bill eligibility left.)

retake the lsat and dont try to bump it up to a 165 that wont get you major money at any t14 get 170+ and enjoy $$$ at a few schools in the t14

Vet status will get him some good money at the lower T14, IMO, if he can get a 167+.

I was accepted at UWash and have personal reasons to go there. Are the career prospects really that bad? (I mean, compared to law school debt)

If you have the Post 9/11 GI Bill, they made some changes to it this year that made it a lot more attractive for law school. The major one was that it pays for 100% tuition at any public school. This means that Michigan, Boalt, and UVA are all 100% tuition assuming you can get in. Shoot for a 170+ LSAT and an acceptance means you're guaranteed 100% tuition + BAH stipend at any of these schools (assuming you still have your GI bill). The old GI bill might have had some changes as well, it's definitely worth looking in to.

This is probably the short term answer at least, as I was considering this one already. I should have time as I will be finishing my thesis very soon.

"Personal reason" is just that my gf is nearby and I like the area.. however, professionally I would prefer a significant salary at an IP firm, which might not even be possible in the northwest. It seems like the law school one attends is something that can't be undone, or overcome without top few% in law school class...

As for the GI bill, the post-9/11 version I get I believe 40% for one year. I've already used up my Montgomery GI Bill.

I have a friend who got wait listed at Berkeley and accepted at NU with a 3.9 GPA but a 152 LSAT score, so i think you can get in with the scores you have now. Of course there is the money issue, (and I can try to find out if he got any scholarship for NU) but still if he got in, i think you can. Of course there are other things such as your personal statement and such, but a school like NU loves students with work and life experience, so that puts you in a good situation.

I updated the first post with my June LSAT (167. All of my meh.) I've been offered a $30k/yr scholarship for the fall at BU, which is pretty tempting tbh.

I checked LSN and it seems like people are not getting $$ at Cornell with my numbers, which I thought was my best hope. Anyone in a (somewhat) similar situation apply last cycle?
