LSAC gpa calculation
This is my first post on the website. I have read several of the forums before, but never actually registered. My question was concerning LSAC's GPA calculation. My current GPA after one and a half years of undergraduate course work is a 3.87, but I am enrolled in ROTC classes and in my sophomore ROTC class I got a C and in my freshman ROTC class I got an A (I am taking them at the same time as I am a compression cadet). We have the choice on whether we want to take the courses for 0,1,or 2 credit hours. Naturally, I took the A for two credit hours and the C for 0. This may sound dumb, but I was wondering if there is anyway that they can factor that C in some way to negatively effect my GPA. I am assuming they will not, but who knows. Also should I write an addendum for the C as I was kind of thrown into the military lifestyle with no previous experience or family military backround and without the "easing into" freshman year of ROTC, it was all very foreign to me. Thanks for any advice and help.

Re: LSAC gpa calculation
Does your transcript reflect the fact that the C was worth zero credits? If so, it will not be factored in to your LSDAS GPA at all.

Yes, it does reflect that. However, how bad does this look if I am competing to attend competitive law schools? I will be commisioning into the guard/reserves upon graduation and am hoping that this will overall be a boost to my application rather than a detriment. Also, should I include the poor original performance in an addendum as it has taken me time to adjust to the military way of doing things, but I am now doing so successfully.
