Female 157/2.95 Majored in CIS--USD?
Any chance in the world I may end up with a WL at USD? It is really my only consideration as I would be able to live at home. Low GPA was the result of my major (a personal challenge). LSAT is well, an LSAT. Should I send an LOCI? Decent softs, solid work experience, two LOR's and a unique PS.
Break it to me gently...

If you're talking about the University of South Dakota, I don't think you'll have any problems with a 157 LSAT. I have a 158 and they were my very first acceptance.

I don't think she asked if she should go? That's great if you actually care about her job prospects (which i doubt), but you basically did not answer her question at all. There are definitely some helpful people on this forum, but it seemes like everyone just enjoys giving condescending advice just because they "crushed the LSAT." What's even more funny is that most of these self-proclaimed legal field experts are 0L's.......rad lulz wrote:San Diego? Even if you get in, I wouldn't go, due to massive debt coupled with bad jerb prospects.

As pertaining to who, you? Quite frankly your reply is about as far away from the 'heart of the issue' as it gets (as pertaining to ME). Thank you for your time, however.
Simple question, with my numbers, do I have a shot at a WL at The University of San Diego School of Law for this cycle? Yes or No. No sense sugarcoating anything, or trying to sound super smart and witty with off subject quips.
Thanks for the responses, appreciate it.

To be blunt here, "LSAT is well, an LSAT" is absolutely not true. You can't control your UGPA now, you can't control your URM status, you can't really magically gain astounding softs, but what you can do is retake the LSAT in June/October. Starting right now, get the LRB/LGB, and studystudystudy. Get your LSAT up to a 165, and you'll be in at USD. Get your LSAT to 170, and you'll likely get money (LSN seems to say about 18k?)
Equally, should you choose not to retake, you'll almost definitely be WL'd or like several applicants with better stats than you, straight out rejected. Don't bargain with yourself. Your PS, LORs, LOCI, and work experience are not going to make up for a bad LSAT.
This is probably not what you want to hear, but if you have any interest in USD, you're going to have to put in the effort. Three months of studying, and you'll be at USD. Three months of not studying, and you won't be at USD. Pretty simple.

Thank you very much for this response, exactly what I wanted to hear. If rejected will definitely just study this time around/retake and continue to work in the meantime. Contemplating whether or not to send an LOCI their way this week, we shall see.

OP I'd say yes and go for sure, ignore debt and the awful job prospects.
