T14 chances
3.68 GPA (economics, top 5 undergraduate university, which I understand is only tangentially relevant.)
170 LSAT
I also spent a year studying at Oxford, which is not included in my GPA. I have a separate transcript for this year with an approximate equivalent GPA of 3.85. All professors there also provided a written evaluation which range from good to outstanding.
As far as work experience, for the next two years I am working directly for two partners at a V5 firm.
Should I retake the LSAT? I think I had a pretty bad day.
What are my chances at T10? T6?
Thanks

Re: T14 chances
Is that your first LSAT? If so, certainly retake. You will get in to T14s currently, but a few points could earn you thousands in scholarship money at the lower T14s and a much better shot at CCN.

If you think the chances of you doing better are greater than the chances of you doing worse... then yes, retake.
Your resume/experiences are a recipe for an easy T14 acceptance, even with your current numbers. However, a few points higher on the LSAT could give you a little $$.

To clarify, even if you do worse, these schools won't care. Retake is TCR.MTBike wrote:If you think the chances of you doing better are greater than the chances of you doing worse... then yes, retake.

At that level, I suppose that is correct.InGoodFaith wrote:MTBike wrote:If you think the chances of you doing better are greater than the chances of you doing worse... then yes, retake.

It cannot hurt to retake, especially if that 170 is this February's test score, its your 1st or 2nd attempt at the LSAT, and you are planning on applying for the 2013 cycle. (aside from having to study for that bullshit test again)

Thanks for the info. Just to clarify this is my first LSAT, and it is indeed for the February test.

Agree with above. You'll be in to T-14, I'd guess even some T-10, but can't hurt to retake and give yourself better options. Good luck.

Yeah, retake. I mean why not? The only downside is having to dedicate the time to study for that god damn thing again, but it's worth it if you can get some scholly money out of it.Mekhanik wrote:Thanks for the info. Just to clarify this is my first LSAT, and it is indeed for the February test.

Cool, thanks guys, I will probably retake. I was consistently PTing at 172+ so hopefully next time will go better.
Anyway, I'm curious what you think the softs will add (the Oxford year and the V5 firm experience). Will they help at all? Maybe make up for my numbers a little?
