Re: 3.4/170 ED to Georgetown!
Very, very good. No Northwestern application?applesoranges123 wrote:Okay, so I have a 3.4 (3.39 actually), 170 LSAT, and ED'd to Gtown early Jan. What are my chances? I would appreciate any feedback, thanks!!

If Gtown doesn't work out (I believe it will though) you can always ED at UVA too!

I should have probably given in an app to UVA as well, since they are apparently a more splitter-friendly school..

Fairly confused at your thought process here. At the very least, you should be applying to NU, UVA ED, Cornell, and GULC. Is there something you really love about GULC?applesoranges123 wrote:Nope, didnt even apply to Northwestern! I'm a little worried that applying so late in the cycle will hurt me...

Disagree, if only because of the timing. I also applied in early january and was waitlisted everywhere, including GULC, with a 171 / 3.8 LSDAS. Also 3.4 is a little low GPA wise. Especially since Georgetown is cutting its class size.Smumps wrote:Very, very good. ^ were you ED though? It's binding so it may increase OP's chances of admission
EDIT: Although I do agree that it's pretty late in the cycle so it will hinder OP's chances regardless

Well, since I am already applying late in the cycle, and I guess I dont absolutely have to start law school next year (although I would like to) I figured for now I would just apply to places that I really want to go to...Did ED at GULC since I thought I would have the best chance there from my choices, and to get a little boost. I was just saying UVA because I've heard its more splitter-friendly, and I dont think I would mind going there maybe..

Did you apply in last year's cycle, presumably RD?? I'm not sure how much ED helps me though..Where did you hear its cutting class size?

I was 09-10 cycle. Cutting the class size was in our school newspaper, direct from the Dean.applesoranges123 wrote:DanInALionsDen wrote:Disagree, if only because of the timing. These were my exact numbers. I've gotten into UVA and Georgetown already (non-ED). My softs were good, but you can certainly get in with those numbers.applesoranges123 wrote:Okay, so I have a 3.4 (3.39 actually), 170 LSAT, and ED'd to Gtown early Jan. What are my chances? When did you apply to Gtown?? I'm worried that because I'm applying so late in the cycle though I'm most likely going to get waitlisted, deferred, etc...Maybe the ED will help a little. Thanks for your encouraging words though!

Re: 3.4/170 ED to Georgetown!
I was early, sent both in on November 14 though Georgetown held mine at my request until the middle of December. I heard back from both within about a month and a half. It certainly can't hurt to apply and I know people who have about our numbers who have gotten in applying much later.applesoranges123 wrote:justicefishy wrote:These were my exact numbers. I think so? I know I got sent a letter (which led to much jumping and going "yes yes yes yes yes!") and the email came later for me.
