Re: Any chance of scholarship money at Texas Wesleyan with this?
You should not be targeting Wesleyan at all. Given your decent LSAT and URM status, you should be looking at the SMU PT program.
Unless you can attend Wesleyan for free and have a job waiting for you upon graduation.

I think you'll get money at both. But if you want to get elected, you'll need to get experience, and Wesleyan will not give you the kind of opportunities SMU does in D/FW.
I think you're also vastly underestimating the respect accorded SMU within D/FW.

I agree. I think with your numbers you should definitely be looking into the SMU PT program. It is a little bit on the pricey side, but the atmosphere and potential job opportunities are a plus. SMU is my first choice because of this forum.kalvano wrote:You should not be targeting Wesleyan at all. Given your decent LSAT and URM status, you should be looking at the SMU PT program.

I don't think I've heard of SMU giving a 100% scholarship. You may want to verify that with kalvano. But I've heard of TX Wes being on the more generous side (paying for the first year and a half of law school - FT).
Also, I've been out of college for about 12 years. I've been working in consulting since then. Law school will definitely be a chance of pace for me as well.

Better to contact each school's admissions & financial aid office with your questions since your situation is atypical. My best guess is that both will encourage you to apply without promising anything, but you won't know until you ask. However, some law schools offer public interest scholarships.

I think you have a good chance at SMU part time with a small scholarship.
Tex Wes will roll out the red carpet for you. Expect big money. Negotiate the scholarship stipulations off before you sign up, or don’t attend. Not worth sticker after the 1st year.
