Wrote a very good Why Illinois essay IMO.

Would love to get some scholarship money here and make it a no-brainer.

I'm expecting a 1/4th scholly to be honest. I'd just love it if maybe my essays and work experience got me 1/2.

Well I also got 28K from UMn so I'm absolutely sure that you could negotiate, especially given UIUC's inevitable fall in prestige and rankings after the admissions debacle this year. I think your chances are good

Why not shoot for NU though? Debt averse?

I applied to Northwestern. Expecting to be declined though. If I am accepted I will have a decision to make.

Sure. Let's live together in a studio to avoid going deeper into debt.

Living in Chicago would be fantastic though. I'm even considering Chicago-Kent if I get a good scholarship just because living in Chicago is so enticing.

UIUC is not as formulaic with their scholarships and acceptances as some other comparable schools. If you get in though, possibly off a waitlist, it should be with some $. You should also get some $$ from WUSTL, Minn and possibly ND.

Did not apply to Minnesota, should I? I've never been to Minneapolis so maybe that is why I haven't considered it.

Since Illinois really is my first legitimate choice, I wrote a very good Why Illinois essay. Anyone think that'll push me over the edge?
