NYU chances 171 and 3.8

Defered early admissions to Columbia, accepted at Georgetown. Numbers are 171 and a 3.8 GPA from top 25 public university. Have two year old LSAT of 161, addendum explaining lack of understanding of gravity of the test and lack of commitment upon first attempt, again 2 years ago. NYU as a backup to Columbia, how serious are they about averaging the two scores?

Most schools aren't all that serious about averaging scores. Given that you have a median LSAT and an above-median GPA, I'd say your chances are pretty good at NYU.
