Way overpriced, mediocre job prospects for the rank/cost. If you can get into GW, take the money at WUSTL/Fordham/BC/BU.dreakol wrote:what's wrong with GW?tuco wrote:ehh screw GW lol. Without ED it will be really difficult to get Georgetown, you'd also be behind the big influx of apps.

Yeah from what I can tell they are trying to crack down on that. They don't want people with lower numbers using it as a back door in and then switching to the full time program once they're enrolled. GULC states pretty explicitly on their website that the part-time program is designed for a certain type of student and that they are no longer allowing people to switch into the full-time program except in cases of a drastic change in circumstances I take that to mean someone who would be unable to attend full-time for any number of reasons, most likely because of a full-time job. Everyone I know who is in a part-time program is working full time at a job they had before starting law school.lrslayer wrote:i thought i read that its no longer a back door way into schools because the reporting is now the same. i could be wrong though. can anyone back it up?tuco wrote:how much easier?CanadianWolf wrote:Georgetown part-time is easier for admission.

I have a friend with numbers above the part-time median but below the full-time median and solid, possibly outstanding softs who applied early to both programs and was rejected last cycle. I would bet that it was partly due to the fact that he applied to both part-time and full-time. something that would raise a flag with an adcomm as someone who doesn't have a preference for one program over the other and just wants to get in, which isn't really what part-time programs are for. I would bet that they are also more vigilant now than in previous cycles about admitting people who will try and switch over or who might just be applying part-time because they couldn't get in full-time.
That being said, I have no idea whether or not this will affect the LSAT and GPA numbers for the part-time programs, but I'm fairly certain that it will at least slightly change who is admitted.

Thanks for all the input guys. I didn't think I had much of RD chance at Georgetown or Duke but its frustrating because it sounds like some people with my numbers have already gotten accepted to both. Would really really love Duke but can't belive I would have a shot there even still....Georgetown would be awesome too I am trying to solicit a fee waiver first though.
