Fordham/GW/Emory 3.28/158/166
3.28/158/166
strong upward gpa trend
PS about overcoming extreme poverty (non-urm)
LOR from a professor with LLM degree, and a professor with a PHD, i was very active in classes for both professors
4 misdemeanor arrests four years ago at age 17, 2 convictions, all drug related and in a 12 month period, rehab served
What are my odds at the aforementioned schools?
strong upward gpa trend

No i talk about overcoming poverty and rescuing my neighbor when someone broke into her house to rob and assault her ( i feel that this is in line with poverty since violent crime like this is a product of poverty stricken neighborhoods)lrslayer wrote:did you talk about the drug thing in your ps or just the addend? did you put a positive spin on it?john1990 wrote:3.28/158/166

I have an addendum for my offenses, in which i say that i have matured and been rehabilitated.

not looking good. i was a 3.35 and a 158/165 last year and was WL at fordham. I rode it out for a while but then withdrew midsummer. this cycle might be a little better for you because schools have decreasing medians, but i would say you can apply to these schools if you really like them, but apply to safeties too. i don't know about emory, but you're out at gw too. good luck on your cycle.john1990 wrote:3.28/158/166

I think Emory is a no go but the other two are worth the app. Have you solicited fee waivers? I think you should do that and then it will be worth your 16 dollars to apply to all three and also apply to at least one school that is a lock as well. You need to make sure your essays and addendum are on lock for real. Probably wouldn't hurt to include some "why X" essays to really make them think they are each your first choice! Good luck.john1990 wrote:No i talk about overcoming poverty and rescuing my neighbor when someone broke into her house to rob and assault her ( i feel that this is in line with poverty since violent crime like this is a product of poverty stricken neighborhoods)lrslayer wrote:did you talk about the drug thing in your ps or just the addend? did you put a positive spin on it?john1990 wrote:3.28/158/166

Gotta bump your LSAT a few points to really have a shot at any of them. Your GPA is below 25 so you've gotta be above 75

Id try to also solicit waivers from Cardozo/Iowa/IU-B. Also GMU is free and Id think youd get in for sure.
To answer your original question, id say out at GWU, WL/In at Fordham, WL/In at Emory.
