3.29/173

Post by georgeconstanza » Wed Oct 26, 2011 11:34 pm

First post, couldn't help myself. Really enjoyed the spam security question by the way.

Went abroad for a full year (high respected program), so the GPA is for only two years. Top-30 school. Any shot at a CCN early? Particularly the N? Beyond that, Penn/Michigan?

Thanks!

I'd say without a 175 almost for sure not. Virginia ED and you're pretty close to a lock though

Anything else to go on? Are Penn and Michigan nonstarters as well? Where should I be looking if NYU's definitely out of reach (and is it really that bad a shot)?

I think you're pretty much in if you ED Penn, otherwise no. Michigan seems to be really into softs and unpredictable, so if I were you I'd ED your choice of Penn and UVA.

As for NYU, I agree that it doesn't seem likely, and you'd be blowing your shot at Penn.

Hi there numbers twin. I'd love to follow each others' cycles. Are you on law school numbers?

She has about the same GPA and LSAT as you do, and she wants to follow how your applications turn out this year. That's easier when you're signed up on Law School Numbers.

My Brother got into Penn with a 3.2/173, Hispanic.

He was wait listed and showed interest. Finally, after 6-7 months, he got in. Apply to Penn.

The reason they say you don't have a shot at NYU is bc your GPA is below the 25% but your LSAT is not at 75. Early Decision generally does not help splitters. Your chances are the same for regular decision. Early Decision is primarily for NYU to take its most attractive candidates, most of whom have the numbers for regular decision anyway, but want to commit to NYU as their first choice.

Why would any creature professing sanity (or the semblance thereof) apply ED when they have the numbers to get in RD?
