3.0/158

Post by scfitz5 » Tue Oct 18, 2011 1:24 pm

I would like to go to a top 40 school ideally. I'm a Philosophy Major at UMich. White/Male. Retook the LSAT in October so I'm hoping to break into the 160s but wanted to get an idea with where I'm at now. GPA should be rising from this semester as well.

Specific Schools:
Fordham
Wash U
UMinnesota
Indiana U
George Washington U
UC Davis

Auto-denied at all of these. Sorry.

Tier 3 unless you improve your LSAT. Top 40 will require at least 165.

Auto-ding at all. Even with 166+ that GPA will likely keep you out. Would be a stretch even for URM. Higher TTT is your best bet. You may be able to hit some of the TT in the 85-100, but it's unlikely.

right, with 166, you're looking at acceptances from probably 2 of those.

Alright, telling you that you would get none of these with a 166 may have been extreme on my part. You could probably manage 1-2 with that. But a 160 won't get you any of these. A 160/3.0 would get you a handful of TT, but not T1.

yeah, that's a bit more accurate. With a 3.0, you probably have no shot at Davis, and regardless of score, Minn and GWU are gonna be tough. 166 might get IU, 168 might get WUSTL, and I'm not sure about Fordham's floor, but you'll need mid 160s at least

With a 3.0/158, you need to consider applying to Tier Two law schools since it is unlikely as a non-URM that you will be admitted to any tier one law schools.

Do you guys think a 3.1 168 gets into Washu? Seemed like anything above 3.0 with a 168 got in and usually with money

lawschoolpredictor.com results:

West Virginia & Syracuse & the Indianapolis campus of IU are your best options in Tier Two. Michigan State is another Tier Two possibility.

Stetson & Tulsa are Tier Three options.

Part-time options should be Loyola-Chicago, Stetson, Michigan State, William Mitchell & Indiana-Indianapolis.
