3.97 GPA, 175 LSAT PhD
I have a PhD in molecular bio, 3.97 GPA (undergrad), 175 LSAT and Im really interested in doing IP law. My main problem is that as in international student I can not apply for any federal loans and I am getting more and more nervous as I see my school list shrink due to this limitation. Some schools (Harvard, Yale) provide institutional loans to international students to match federal loans given to U.S citizens, unfortunately these are not easy to get into schools. My question is what are my odds of getting into one of them. If any schools pop to mind that offer scholarships or other forms of financial aid I could apply for? NYU has a scholarship for IP law, how selective is it, any thoughts or experience??

I wouldn't worry too much. You'll get fat full ride scholarship offers from a lot of the T14 with those stats, so loans go down in importance. Do you know if LSAC counts your GPA or are you going to get one of the "Highly Distinguished" designations?
Enjoy Harvard.
Enjoy Harvard.

LSAC does not count my grad school GPA. Did I understand your question correctly?

No. Was your Undergrad GPA from an American/Canadian school or a different foreign school?

Sorry. Both my undergrad and grad schools were in the U.S.

Oh, ok then. You should be set. You have great shots at Yale and Harvard with their institutional loans. I guess the trouble schools for you are SCCN, because you might not get huge scholarships from them (though I think you might from CCN). MVP and down should give you huge scholarships.
So, I'd bet you are in at YH. If you are not, I'd bet you end up going to MVP on a full ride.

One more note: LSP shows that every 175 with a GPA over 3.9 was accepted last cycle. Look around at the graphs. You should be well over 75% at getting in there.
