Re: ED NYU?
What kind of softs do you have? I got into NYU RD last year with a 172/3.5 (after a retake), so it's possible. There were a decent number of people who didn't get in with the same stats though. If you really want NYU you should ED since they won't give you any money with a 3.5 anyway.
Also, are you a US citizen? Some schools seem to be weird about "international" admits (probably because of the loan headaches), although i'm not sure if NYU is one or not.

You can call the admissions office and ask them what they think you should do with such a great lsat score.

Re: ED NYU?
My softs are.. whatever... average. Some (small) internships with (small) NGOs, coordinated a mentoring program in ug, etc. I didn't save the world so I'm definitely not counting on them, but they're at least all in the vein of the specific public interest track I'm looking at taking.
And yeeeeahhh I'm Canadian. I'm not convinced it has all that much of an effect on admissions, just makes getting loans incredibly irritating.
I'll probably end up EDing-- I think without the risk of losing out is too strong.

Re: ED NYU?
I thought about doing an ED myself to NYU and I put my chances near 75%. Because your 3.5 GPA, I'd give it a slightly higher chance of about 80-90% as my 3.4 really cuts close to their GPA floor.

Probably the right call, RD would be a gamble and NYU is probably your best bet for T6.cashew wrote:My softs are.. whatever... average. Re: ED NYU?
Sorry to hijack but does a 172 (first time 167), 3.68 give me a decent shot at NYU and/or Columbia ED?

Decent for NYU not so good for Columbia, although ED is probably the only way you will have any chance there.smokeylarue wrote:Sorry to hijack but does a 172 (first time 167), 3.68 give me a decent shot at NYU and/or Columbia ED?
