Feedback on my list? 3.6/166

Post by CattyPake » Mon Aug 29, 2011 11:10 pm

Just wondering if I could get some feedback on my potential schools list. Is this a pretty well rounded list or do I need more safety schools? I'm sort of paranoid about not getting in anywhere
And what about money?

I have around a 3.6 (haven't calculated official LSAC GPA) and a 166 that I am retaking in Oct.

Cornell (Reachiest reach)
U Minnesota
Boston U
U Illinois (UIUC)
Boston College
U Washington
U Wisconsin
U Florida
U Connecticut

Thanks for helping out!

I would include the following schools, because they tend to offer large scholarships to people with your numbers: Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Washington and Lee and Iowa. I agree with throwing an app to Cornell, its worth a shot.

EDIT: I got a full ride to Cardozo with those numbers, so you might want to consider that as well.

IU-B FTW. You'll almost certainly get the best scholarships from them. Minn, UIUC and Boston U are going to be tough because you're below both medians. At BC, you're right at the median so you have a good shot with a strong app. You're pretty much a lock at the other schools. Come back with your actual GPA and retake score though for a better picture.

If you're retaking then this list is not going to be much use if you get even 2-4 points higher you'd be a failrly strong candidate for GULC/Cornell.

You could add fordham and maybe GW to this list as well.

this, though since IU got it's median to 166, I'm not sure if you will still get a full-ride this year

Didn't IUB get murdered at OCI this year? I would be wary.

You'll need another LSAT point for MN if you want money: http://minnesota.lawschoolnumbers.com/stats/1011/

I think BC is a good bet for you

I got dinged at IUB with same LSAT, but significantly lower GPA. Id suggest putting an app in there, and make it early.

Moomoo mentioned GULC...what does that stand for?

Thanks for the tips and the IU suggestion although I won't be applying there since I go to IU for undergrad and I kinda hate living there, to put it mildly :D

Cornell is my dream school so hopefully my retake will make me more competitive there!
