3.81/174...idk?

Post by jwalsh16 » Wed Aug 03, 2011 5:04 pm

Hey guys,

I am looking for chances at H/Y and CCN and then Penn and NW. As my title says UG GPA is 3.81 with 174 LSAT. From top 50 school with double major double minor. Im the founder of a non-profit and on the Executive Board of another. Play collegiate sport and work 20+ hours a week while taking 18-21 credits.

Also, as a side note, if I were to apply to schools ASAP and then do well in my fall semester bumping my gpa theoretically up to say a 3.86 would that have any bearing ?

Thanks

Y= not great but worth an application....1/3
H= not great but worth an application.... 1/2
S= reasonable chance..... 2/3
CCN= reasonable chance/good chance..... 4/5
B-TTTT- In..... 9/10

This are my estimations using LSP and LSN, both of which are severely flawed. Your best bet is to blanket T14 and pick your best offer.

In with $$ at Penn and $$$ at NU.

In at Columbia (no $) and NYU ($).

Moderately Good chance at Chicago (smaller class size/ fit focused)-- if you are accepted you will get at least $ and maybe $$ because of the Rubenstein-scholarship trickle down effect.

Moderate chance at Harvard (they don't care about softs).

Who knows with Yale. If your softs are significant and package compelling, you have a shot.

going over median by .00001 has a lot of bearing - it won't make it 100%, but there'd be no on paper reason not to admit you with 2 numbers over median.

But if I were to apply say first thing October, and would get grades by December 18th...would that have a bearing or would they have already decided my fate ? and yes it would put me (theoretically with the grades I think I should/can get) at a GPA of 3.865
