3.67 / 169
Hey thanks to anyone who responds. I can read LSN so I'm just asking about certain ones that I'm unsure of or I should ED. 1 year out of undergrad, philosophy/classics major, maybe slightly above average softs but probably nothing that makes me stick out too much. Living in Chicago. Alpha order:
(1) Cornell
(2) Chicago (even worth a shot? lol)
(3) Georgetown (ED?)
(4) Northwestern
(5) Notre Dame
(6) UCLA
(7) UVA (ED?)
(8) Vandy
thanks for any ideas.

If I can get into either Northwestern or Chicago I want to stay lol, but I know those are both stretches so I'm prepared to leave.lawschool12345 wrote:are you looking to stay in Chicago?

You should be okay for Cornell, but if I were you, I'd write a Why X essay.guitarist24 wrote:Hey thanks to anyone who responds. I will. Would you recommend ED-ing anywhere like GULC or UVA or would it probably not help much?glewz wrote:You should be okay for Cornell, but if I were you, I'd write a Why X essay.guitarist24 wrote:Hey thanks to anyone who responds. You should retake the LSAT to try for NU or UChi. You have nothing to lose and a lot to gain.guitarist24 wrote:If I can get into either Northwestern or Chicago I want to stay lol, but I know those are both stretches so I'm prepared to leave.lawschool12345 wrote:are you looking to stay in Chicago?

Probably the only T14's you have a shot at are Cornell and UMich (if you ED with a 169, do it to UMich), but check http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com to be sure.

ED would help at GULC, but then you'd have to pay sticker at GULC. You could do that, or you could cut yourself until you can't feel feelings.guitarist24 wrote:I will. ED to UVA probably wouldn't work, because you're below both medians. Unless you are a resident, doesn't sound like you are.
Since you want Chicago and are probably from there, ED to Northwestern if you have work experience. Otherwise I would ED to Michigan or UChicago if you want to throw the hail mary.
Or enjoy money at Vandy or ND or gobbles of cash from UIUC / IUB / WUSTL / UMN.

UVa's ED has a 15 day turnaround and its contractual language doesn't restrict you from EDing to another school (should you be rejected), but looking at LSN, it shows that you don't have a great shot.guitarist24 wrote:I will. Northwestern's ED contract can only be submitted if you don't ED to any other school during the entire cycle...so if you were thinking about UVa ED and then NU ED should you be turned down at Virginia, that wouldn't fly.

Yeah...I agree on NU if you have work experience & Michigan if not. Chicago is not worth wasting the ED, however.duckmoney wrote:ED would help at GULC, but then you'd have to pay sticker at GULC. You guys are being way too generous with NU/UVa/GULC, imo. I sincerely doubt an ED to any T14 other than UMich would be worthwhile for someone with a 3.67/169.

Really? No one has actually recommended UVa/GULC thus far.bk187 wrote:You guys are being way too generous with NU/UVa/GULC, imo. I sincerely doubt an ED to any T14 other than UMich would be worthwhile for someone with a 3.67/169.

I was just skimming the thread so I didn't read it right. But there was some implicit recommendation of NU and GULC.glewz wrote:Really? Chicago is only worth the ED if you would to prefer to RD other schools to keep your options open. For instance, For someone who wants Chicago a full ride to UIUC could be better than Michigan.glewz wrote:

Re: 3.67 / 169
i got into uchicago ED with 169/3.84. I had a strong upward grade trend, but you're not that far off from my GPA. if you can put together a good PS and good recs, then it might be worth a shot, since uchicago >>> all your other options (unless you're really considering going for money somewhere, but i'd still suggest going for uchicago ED if you want chicago)

I'm a little more skeptical about his chances, your GPA is quite a bit higher than OPs. But yes, UChicago would be best far and away.gotmilk? wrote:i got into uchicago ED with 169/3.84. Would an ED to Chicago be a total waste for me too? I'm at 168, 3.81 (above GPA median, below LSAT median).

Wait to see what class of 2014's medians are, should be released in September on their website. I think they may have driven them up quite a bit with all the extra scholarship money they flung around last cycle.SLS_AMG wrote:Would an ED to Chicago be a total waste for me too?
