173/3.83/ multiple scores
I just got a 173 on the June LSAT, but had previously scored a 159 in Dec. There's no great answer for the difference between scores. I think the main reason is that I studied mostly from earlier PTs (10-30) and didn't put enough time into later ones. When I tried to do the latest ones, the increased difficulty for reading comprehension hurt me. I never got too much practice in with those before the Dec test. After working harder and with newer tests, my score improved.
I've read different things about multiple scores and how they will be judged. I was just wondering if the big jump will hurt my chances with T-14 schools. I know my chances for HYS are slim, but what about the others.
Also, I do not have much in the way of softs. I volunteered a little. And I have spent the last two years teaching English in Korea.
Thanks.

Re: 173/3.83/ multiple scores
The T6 are reaches, but not unlikely ones. Schools are more likely to overlook your 159 because it is so much lower than the 173. If it were more scores (3+) that were more closely grouped then you might have more convincing to do. You should be looking for good money from any school below NYU, and I wouldn't be surprised if you got some merit money in the T6.
ETA: Reach may have been too strong of a term, even at Columbia almost all people with your numbers got in. Don't f'up your application and you probably won't end up on the waitlist, retake or not (i'm sure lots of people who got in had a retake).

I'd say OP has a good shot at CCN. They are target schools, not reach imo. Best of luck!

Yeah, CCN are definitely not reaches. Blanket CCNMVP.

I can be a good case example for you. My LSATs were 160, 161, 173 (without compelling reasons for the jump) and GPA of 3.81.
In off waitlist at Harvard
In at Chicago and NYU (no merit money)
WL at Berkeley and Virginia and merit money everywhere else.

Wario, that is awesome. Congrats! Any idea what helped you at Harvard?WarioLaw wrote:I can be a good case example for you. My LSATs were 160, 161, 173 (without compelling reasons for the jump) and GPA of 3.81.

That's sad about Berkeley though - I wonder why.

I have multiple scores going in for the 180 in October to makeup for my narcoleptic performance (I was taking medication that made me very sleepy and like an idiot didn't cancel) on the first test:
