Were your acceptances to Cornell/GULC from when you had just a 165?

So you're applying with the exact same numbers as last cycle? What makes you think you'll do any better?

Re: 3.53 170 URMish
I never got responses from any of the schools as I had to withdraw cause I couldnt go to law school anyways.
I will have a much better PS & DS and will do ED NYU and will apply in september, so i guess that won't change much, but like I said i really only what would've happened at cornell & georgetown & fordham.
just testing the waters.

Most people don't get off waitlists anyways. I doubt you'll crack the T6 but it's worth a shot. I am not sure if ED'ing NYU is a prudent choice over ED'ing to one of the lower T14 that you would prefer (looking at LSN says there are no non-URM acceptances in your numbers for NYU but as you note there is a chance for a small boost for otherhispanic). I assume you'll get Cornell/GULC again and Cornell is pretty functionally equivalent to the rest of lower T14 if you are aiming for NYC.

I have almost the same numbers as you, and I'm going to try for Penn ED. Have you thought about that school? It's ranked only one spot below NYU in the latest rankings (if that matters to you), and Philly is very close to New York. Everyone here talks about how good Penn is for NYC all the time.

I get the sense that half of the people on this board only want to go to law school so that they can get a job in New York that pays them a wage that is decent enough to afford a reasonably NYC lifestyle.
Also agree with grimfan, although you might get into Penn RD if you get the "other hispanic" boost. Lots of 3.5 171+ got in last year RD.

Don't you know that New York City is like the bestest city in the world?bdubs wrote:I get the sense that half of the people on this board only want to go to law school so that they can get a job in New York that pays them a wage that is decent enough to afford a reasonably NYC lifestyle.

I have similar numbers to you as well (non-URM) and am thinking about EDs to one or more of MVP (aka Sept 1 to UVA, if defer/reject, then Sept 21 to Mich, etc). One thing about NYU is that they average LSAT scores, which will definitely hurt your chances.

They say they do, but they really don't.Sheehan wrote:One thing about NYU is that they average LSAT scores, which will definitely hurt your chances.
