Re: ED TO UVA
Do it on the day the application opens and you will know within 2 weeks. Last year you probably would have gotten in.

LSN shows him as a waitlist.

Score is still a hair too low I think. 165 would do it I bet.

Re: ED TO UVA
A few 162s got in last year according to LSN. Most of the action in the WL/Reject territory is for people who are much closer to GPA median (<=3.9). My guess is that you would be fine early in the application season

Re: ED TO UVA
Looks pretty good actually. Better than I would have expected.
Seven people with above a 3.95 applied to UVA ED this past year, and six got in. The seventh was waitlisted, but only had a 158 LSAT (and a 4.0 GPA!! Retake!) The LSAT scores of the six who got in were 167, 165, 162, 166, 162, 165.

Better than 50/50 shot. Apply on 9/1, if you get rejected sign up for the October LSAT.

Re: ED TO UVA
Whoa OP, we have very similar numbers. I wasn't considering applying ED to UVA until I posted this yesterday and everyone said UVA was a good choice: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 9&t=160123
What other schools are you thinking about applying to ED? Are you a resident?

Re: ED TO UVA
If OP is a VA resident and does ED, he/she should be in. If OP is a not a resident and applies ED in early September, he/she has a chance but might be placed on the WL. The LSAT score might be a tad too low.

I am not a resident, my brother does go to UVA LAW currently (dont think that matters, but it may) and I am not a URM.

Re: ED TO UVA
Looking at LSN, there have been a number of applicants with similar numbers who have been accepted through ED, but most of these applicants have not posted their state of residence, so it might not be a fair comparison to OP if these applicants are in-state. IMO, OP should apply to UVA ED on September 1st, and if OP is wait listed (outright rejection is very unlikely), OP could retake the LSAT in October if retaking is an option.

Re: ED TO UVA
They pretty stern with the 170 cutoff for ED, but with GPA over 3.9 they seem to let people in. Probably worth it.

Re: ED TO UVA
Isn't October sign-up date 8/30 with late reg 9/9? OP would have to sign up and then no-show the test if he did get in ED.

Re: ED TO UVA
Yes, the October sign-up date is 8/30 and late registration is 9/9. If OP applies on 9/1 ED, hopefully he/she will hear by 9/9 and can withdraw registration for the LSAT if accepted through ED and can get a partial refund (deadline for the partial refund is 9/9).descartesb4thehorse wrote:Isn't October sign-up date 8/30 with late reg 9/9?
