Where should I ED, longshots Forum

Looking to apply for the fall 2012 year, want to send my apps out once they are available, and figure it wouldnt hurt to ED to one of the T14 as i am borderline for some of the lower t14's
i have a 167, and a 3.68
No preference for location as i am willing to relocate for law school. Retaking is not an option as i the 167 was my third try

if you are below both medians an ED won't help you. ED to some place where you are at least equal to one median.

Either Penn or UVA. The latter might be smidgen easier. Are you a URM?

All EA means is that you get an answer fast. It's non-binding.

You can do EA while doing ED, as long as each school is okay with it (and you better check first, or there will be serious repercussions). Depending on where you'd like to live most, I'd say it's a toss up between Penn and UVA.

You need to retake the LSAT to have a chance at any of the schools you have listed; if you are below both medians it's 99% certain that your app will end up as a denial.

Also, don't ED unless you retake, it doesn't make sense to pay sticker at schools you could get into with an ED app using your current LSAT score.

Identical stats here except 168. You won't get the T14 without a retake. T25s, yes, but EDing won't help you for any of those schools.

Why are so many people saying ED to UVA? OP is below both medians (170/3.85). The ED to UVA usually helps people who are below one median and above the 75th for the other (e.g. 166/3.95, 173/3.4) but not those who are below both medians.

I don't know much about Texas, so not including Texas in the picture, I would say ED to UCLA would be the best option if OP does not retake. OP is still below both medians (168/3.77) but is at least a little closer to the medians at UCLA.

UVA, Duke, U Mich are your best shots imo. It doesn't hurt to ED to UVA unless you do NOT want to end up there. Two weeks response is pretty nice and it will give you another chance at ED T14 if not accepted.

OP's LSAT is below the 25th at Georgetown and around median for the GPA. That being said, a few people with similar numbers to OP got accepted this past cycle according to LSN. I originally voted UCLA, but now that I think about it, OP's GPA is probably too low. Pretty much everyone with around a 167/3.7 was wait listed: http://ucla.lawschoolnumbers.com/stats

OP is not getting into UVA ED. Both GPA and LSAT are below the median. I'm confused why it's such a popular response as well. I'd say not much of a chance at T14, even with ED... but Georgetown may offer the best shot.

Eh, not really. GULC still has some impressive medians and in general I'd say the most low LSAT friendly of the T14 are Cornell/UMich (followed by UPenn/UVa). But OP's shot at any of them is so minuscule that this is an absurd thread.

This is pretty generous. Hate to break it to you but you're basically out at all of the T14.

I'm thinking the only T18 that is going to have you would be USC, maybe UT, and I wouldn't recommend sticker at either. You really should accept that you will probably end up going to a strong regional school with a scholarship.
