Long time troll, first time poster seeking advice
3.83 LSDAS GPA
165 June '11 LSAT
Decent softs, great LOR's, and a strong personal statement that can be tailored to "i feel x is the best law school for me" most places.
Ideally t14, but i understand that this is unlikely. Any advice on ED chances at top 14?
Otherwise, am I in good shape outside of the top twenty?
Additionally, 165 was 6 points below my PT average and Im not opposed to a retake. However, I'm concerned that waiting on October scores to apply may hinder my chances some places.
3.83 165 Non-URM any shot at t14? ED possibly? Forum

Hi natureboy34. I don't really know about your chances as I am a first time applicant and new to this for the most part.
But I also received a 165 on the June '11, which was a few points below my PT average. I think I'm going to retake in October though because of that; but like you, I am worried about taking it that late as well... mostly though because of the major studying involved and being afraid of forgetting stuff and having burnout...
Anyway though! I heard that the ideal time to apply was early November; which would be after the scores are released. Do you think it's better to apply even earlier than that though?

Same boat as you, 3.86 and a 166. I will be re-taking. The (very, very, very) slight disadvantage of not applying at the first moment is far outweighed by the better chance we have on a retake. Even if you can get in where you want, a retake 170 is the difference between a scholarship and no scholarship everywhere.

Waiting till November to apply isn't going to hurt your chances.

How do you think the best way to study is? As intense as before the June test (i.e. a practice test almost every day for about 2 weeks, plus months before that of doing stuff several times a week), or just a focus on weaknesses with some practice tests thrown in there?
