3.68/1.72 - CCN?
I'll just get down to business:
3.68 from top 20 undergrad.
172 LSAT.
Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship (1 year teaching in a European middle school)
Teach For America
Chances at Columbia or Chicago?
Would level would I start to get money at?

I think you have a strong shot at Chicago, weaker prospects at Columbia.
You might get small $ at Chicago, probably none at Columbia if you get in.

Decent chance (a little under 50-50) at Columbia, probably more likely than not to get in at Chicago.
I would expect some money from Michigan, Virginia, and Duke on down.

172/3.94 here
For this cycle I am in at Chicago and NYU with $, WL at Columbia.
I can not stress enough the importance of applying early. Write a strong PS, get good letters, have everything in before Thanksgiving, and good luck.

Yeah, I wouldn't be so optimistic about Columbia. As Muenchen pointed out, lots of people with good numbers got WL this year. OP is maybe LSAT median at Columbia (not clear if it will go up this year) and definitely below GPA median.Moxie wrote:Decent chance (a little under 50-50) at Columbia, probably more likely than not to get in at Chicago.

I would also emphasize what Muenchen said about applying early. The last round of decisions at C this year was brutal, with lots of above/above getting the WL and tons with one number below median got dinged.
Also, in at NYU.

Very similar stats this cycle. In at Columbia with no money, WL at NYU, started getting money in the Duke territory.

You have an above median LSAT relative to last cycle though.kwais wrote:Very similar stats this cycle. In at Columbia with no money, WL at NYU, started getting money in the Duke territory.

Would retaking be worth my time? If I were to get a 174, would there be a significant difference?

I cannot stress how much cooler NYU is than Chicago. Write a strong PS, get good letters, and you will avoid having to live in Hyde Park for three years...
Oh wait this isn't the class of 2014 forum.
Don't listen to us asshats, look at the numbers: http://columbia.lawschoolnumbers.com/stats
Some people with 172s got into CLS; everyone with a 175 did. If I were a betting man, I'd say next cycle will be less rigorous. That being said, a higher LSAT will get you more cash no matter what. If you're a gunner, retake.
