2.74, 170 - chances @ U. Washington?
Standard extra-currics (clubs, leadership roles, volunteering hours, student government); no connections to the Pacific Northwest; only WE comes from a summer job and tutoring athletes (yes, believe it or not with that GPA I'm a smart guy).

I doubt you'll get in. I applied with 177 & 2.9 and I was rejected

I don't see a single sub 3.0 acceptance on LSN in the past 3 years, so this seems like a snowball's chance in hell. I think you should cut your losses and accept that you probably won't be working in the PNW (no ties and no chance at UDub).

West Coast is splitter death. With that GPA I don't think you'll get any T1 on the pacific.

I know that the general consensus is to never bank on transferring up, but a lateral transfer is different. If you're dead set on UW, your best bet might be to start at WUSTL/UIUC and transfer to UW. I suspect that you could make that transfer with median grades.

No the consensus is to never bank on transferring... PERIOD. It would be easier to lateral or transfer down, as the case would be with a splitter-friendly midwestern school (WUSTL, UIUC, IUB, possibly Minn) . However, it's still not advisable to start at a school you don't want to end at.mountaintime wrote:I know that the general consensus is to never bank on transferring up, but a lateral transfer is different. Both of these are still improbable. For NU ED, a sub-3.0 would probably need a 173+.Curry wrote:Forgot abotu the GPA floor. Yeah PT ED at GULC or get 2 years of work experience and go to NUDesert Fox wrote:No way with a GPA that low.Curry wrote:ED to UVA?
