3.6/166 UCLA ED?

Post by aalquiso » Thu Apr 07, 2011 2:26 pm

Hey guys, I'm retaking the lsat in june but i want to know my chances with my current lsat. UCLA is by far my #1 choice and i'm from california (graduated from UCI). I'm willing to ED at this point bc with my numbers, I highly doubt I'd qualify for a merit scholarship anyway. If anyone has experience ED'ing to UCLA, id really appreciate the insight.

Not too good. Get a 168+ and you should be in though.

Ya, I am definitely shooting for a 168+ bc I know that two point bump would put me around the median/75% range for their lsat score. I'm afraid i've peaked though bc 166 was what i was testing 1 month before the feb. test. I'm studying again w/ the manhattan books so hopefully that helps. as of right now though, i definitely like the bibles better. but anyways, anyone else have opinions on this? id love to hear from ppl w/ avg stats like mine who ED'ed to ucla and got in.

Greetings fellow anteater!

I wouldn't say you are an auto-ding, but it's still an outside shot. Getting to a 168+ will put you in a good spot with ED (a 170+ would be even better!). If you hit 170, you shouldn't ED because you have an outside shot at merit aid (and you'll have the opportunity to use schollies from the 18-25 range to leverage UCLA).

Hey guys, fellow anteater here, can anyone speak to what LSAT I'd need to be very strongly considered?? 3.3, URM.

Bhan = MVP. Also, to add to it, UCLA is notorious for liking high GPAs. While a high LSAT might inflate your GPA, that is not usually the case with UCLA, unless you break a 170.

170 with an ED. UCLA likes high GPAs regardless of URM status. source: http://www.lawschoolpredictor.com/wp-co ... ograms.htm

Thanks, and with an ED was what I meant so I'm glad you picked up on that even though I forgot to include that in my post. I was messing around with the predictor and got around that number too. Thanks for your post.
