Notre Dame ED?
This is more of a hypothetical and less of a situation that I am actually in. Let's say I get a 164-166 and with an LSAC GPA of 3.1x, should I ED at Notre Dame to better my chances of an acceptance? However, I do not know if I can take the risk, as I can't leverage with them and some other school, like UIUC might give me a good scholarship. Would ND be a good idea in this situation? Would I have that much less of a shot on RD, or is the ED worth it, and do ED typically get offered scholarships, even if it is a reach?

Don't ED to ND because paying sticker price there would be awful.

Re: Notre Dame ED?
I'm a 1L at ND. First of all, unless you have some really compelling reason for ND to accept you, a 166 is not going to be enough even with ED. Our medians are 3.57/167 now. A 168 would give you a chance, but in that case you'd get more money from WUSTL probably.
Is ND worth sticker? I doubt it. I wouldn't pay sticker at any school that places less than 35-40% in NLJ250 firms, and we are at 24% right now. Perhaps things will be better for the class of 2015, but still probably not enough better. ND with decent grades will get you a job, but it may not be a job that's enough to pay off 150-160K in loans.

so just for the sake of the argument I got a 170 or whatever, and I did get accepted via ED, my question now is if people who ED get the same scholarship consideration as RD, and if not, what's the difference?

The point of schools giving you scholarships is to convince you to attend there. If you apply ED to a school, you have to go there so the school has NO incentive to give you money. If you apply ED anywhere expect to pay sticker.mattviphky wrote:so just for the sake of the argument I got a 170 or whatever, and I did get accepted via ED, my question now is if people who ED get the same scholarship consideration as RD, and if not, what's the difference?
