163/4.0 Chances at Georgia
I have a 163 LSAT and 4.0 GPA from Auburn University. My LSAT is just below the median but my GPA is far above the 75th percentile. I heard they sent a lot of acceptances last week, but I'm still waiting to hear. I'm out of state (from Alabama) and not an URM, but I have a strong undergraduate resume. Was waitlisted at UVA so I'd like to believe Georgia wouldn't reject me. Anyone know what my chances are? Should I submit a Why Georgia essay this week? Thanks.

I would think a pretty good chance. I got in last week w/ 3.4 165. Applying this late in the cycle may hurt you though.

I think you have a pretty solid chance. You might want to consider a retake though, 4.0 is pretty good. You could get the T14 with only 3 more points.

Yes, you should submit a "Why Georgia ?" essay this week--but don't focus on "because I was waitlisted at Virginia".

Thanks for the advice. I'm not too concerned with the T14 at this point though, and I'm not really looking to take a year off to retake. I'm interested in staying in the southeast, and my favorite schools are UGA, Bama, and Vandy (although I'm still waiting to hear from Vandy and not really counting on an acceptance). Also was accepted to W&L. Hopefully I'll hear from Georgia this week now that they've accepted the higher LSAT scores.ndirish2010 wrote:I think you have a pretty solid chance.
