I think that you have a chance and Michigan and Penn. I wouldn't hold your breath for any of the others. Just out of curiosity where were you in China?

you think I'd have a better chance at Penn than Northwestern? That seems ludicrous... but thanks for your insights anyways.
located in Beijing, but we have investments throughout china so i spend a lot of time on the road for underwriting/DD

Oh, you're right. I didn't see Northwestern. You have a chance there.PEguy wrote:you think I'd have a better chance at Penn than Northwestern? That seems ludicrous... but thanks for your insights anyways.

Northwestern's JD/MBA program only has like 25 students year to year...from what I hear, it's Really hard to get into. NU's law program is another matter.
You have a shot at all of them...most of it comes down to your interview, once you get it.

For law schools only, you would be close to a lock at NU. Great shots at Michigan and Penn. As far as CCN goes, less than 50% but not zero.

For reference, I'm 3.5 (top 5 public OOS)/172/2 years strong WE (public service/good business job)
In: Penn, GULC, Cornell, Texas, Vandy
WL: UVA (OOS, no ED), UCLA
Waiting: NYU, NU (applied late, but expecting to get in), Michigan (surprised I haven't heard anything out of this one - you should have a really good chance to get it)
Columbia would be a long shot for you.

that's encouraging that you got into Penn. I'd REALLY like to go there - not because I think the law school is much better than NU, but because we're talking about JD/MBA's and I'm in PE so going to wharton would be far superior than Kellogg (not that either is bad)... I think I have a good chance at close to any business school (excellent w/e and 740 GMAT + connections), but it's the law school side of the admissions that scares the shit out of me (3.50... why the hell didn't I get good grades!?!?!)whitman wrote:For reference, I'm 3.5 (top 5 public OOS)/172/2 years strong WE (public service/good business job)

The 3-year JD/MBA at Penn sounds perfect for you, and you seem like a perfect fit. I'm looking into deferring for a year, taking the GMAT, and applying to that program, but I'm not sure that's feasible because I know it's a separate application.
