People like these are why I am sometimes weary of whether or not I will fit in at law school.

That was probably the most disappointing lions game in the last ten years and then the Jets game happened.bostlaw wrote:haha awesome. The bears were horrible, the lions should of won both games if it was not for the refs.

if you know what YP is, why are you asking this question? it'd be like me saying, "i just visited china, and almost all the families i saw had one child (one son or one daughter). i dont really care, but im just curious why. is it the one child policy that they have there?"cl25 wrote:I got into Harvard, Columbia, NYU, Georgetown, Duke, Berkeley, etc, but i just got waitlisted by Penn... my GPA and LSAT are both at the higher end of Penn's numbers. it was never one of my top choices, but i'm just curious why. yield protection? does Penn care about some soft factors i wasn't aware of like Northwestern & work experience or is Penn like Yale and somewhat of a black box?

Ewwww lions. Lol jahvid best was on my fantasy team and i also went to the same ug as him and saw him play so I sorta rooted for the lions this year. Sadly LA doesn't have a team, so I generally just pick one for the season and just hope next year la gets one. With that being said, ewwww lions...
The percent yield of accepted students are factored into a law schools ranking. So schools created a very clever system of holds and waitlists to fudge those numbers. When an exceptional student comes along that the school believes will not attend their school, they will simply waitlist them without worrying that their yield goes down. If the student writes a good letter saying he will go there, then they will probably take the risk of accepting him from the waitlist. Almost every school YPs a little bit except maybe Princeton.

I thought you were calling someone out on the pervasive misuse of "weary" in place of "wary." It's like they've combined wary and leery.bk187 wrote:I was echoing your statement and referring to OP.Non-Chalant1 wrote:Moi?bk187 wrote:People like this are why I am not sure whether I belong on this planet.Non-Chalant1 wrote:People like these are why I am sometimes weary of whether or not I will fit in at law school.

That is what I did. I guess I should stop using my work slang online.Kabuo wrote: I thought you were calling someone out on the pervasive misuse of "weary" in place of "wary." It's like they've combined wary and leery.

If your job is anything like mine, I don't think "weary" could ever be misused in describing it. Cannot WAIT to go to law school.Non-Chalant1 wrote:That is what I did. thanks fastforward. this was really helpful. For some of the other response, i honestly was not trying to be douchy or petty. i genuinely am wondering about what happened and whether there are other considerations, since i've only heard rumors of yield protection. if you think it's a stupid question, please don't respond at all, especially if you have poor grammar.fastforward wrote:We wrote one of our first blog posts about yield protection.
