3.8/159...chance me!
Hey all. I'm a heavy splitter and definitely not happy about it, but I'm determined to apply this cycle. I'm an Asian-American female, went to UVA for undergrad, and my application is pretty good. Except for that huge gaping hole of an LSAT score. That 159 just KILLS me but no fucking way am I ever looking at that test again. What do you think of my chances at:
Washington and Lee
William and Mary
George Mason
George Washington
Emory
Notre Dame
Boston College
Boston University
Vanderbilt
UCLA
I don't have much preference about where I practice.

Slim to no shot at almost all schools you're considering. I'd consider retaking instead. I question the desire and commitment of someone who claims to want to go to law school and yet wouldn't retake the LSAT to go to a better school.

Retake, seriously.
Wasting that gpa and application with such a low LSAT would be an absolute crime.

I don't know why I am involuntarily rolling my eyes, but it could be the "Modern Studies" major or maybe the fact that this one doesn't have the gumption to retake
Your numbers at the moment are low tier 2---I'd advise Temple, they might throw you money too and they are a great school. But seriously....

If you
I think if you were to have any chance of even one of these schools overlooking your LSAT score, you would have needed to apply in October. Best case scenario for you this cycle is a wait-list at one or two of these.rso11 wrote:Hey all. I'm a heavy splitter and definitely not happy about it, but I'm determined to apply this cycle. LOL, didn't mean to sound like I was proud of it or anything. WL means a <10% chance of getting in, and I would never go to GW at sticker cost. Just wanted to give the OP some realistic insight into the odds that are stacked against them. Also I applied early Nov, applying now makes acceptance much more of a long shot.rso11 wrote:Hmmm better than a flat rejection, I guess! Good luck to you!DCLaw11 wrote:rso11 wrote:Hey all. This WAS my retake. I got the same score as the first time! even though I prepped hard and was killing my PTs. *hangs head in shame*bigkahuna2020 wrote:I don't know why I am involuntarily rolling my eyes, but it could be the "Modern Studies" major or maybe the fact that this one doesn't have the gumption to retake

I think you have a shot at BC depending on the institution you came from/ major and softs. BU focuses on LSAT though which sucks.rso11 wrote:This WAS my retake. Not to be too much of a debbie downer, but their graph from last year on LSN shows zero admits similar to OP in numbers. The line (last year anyway) seems to have been a fairly straight 164. There are a couple URM admits who were close, but that's about it.peter844 wrote: I think you have a shot at BC depending on the institution you came from/ major and softs. Based on my cycle w/ 159/3.8. The ones w/ ?'s are the ones I didn't apply to.rso11 wrote:Hey all. I'm a heavy splitter and definitely not happy about it, but I'm determined to apply this cycle. I agree, but LSN is not representative of all numbers and applicants, just those who post.patrickd139 wrote:Not to be too much of a debbie downer, but their graph from last year on LSN shows zero admits similar to OP in numbers. Dude, if you try to convince her to apply, you're doing her more of a disservice than anything. Law school apps aren't particularly cheap.peter844 wrote:I agree, but LSN is not representative of all numbers and applicants, just those who post.patrickd139 wrote:Not to be too much of a debbie downer, but their graph from last year on LSN shows zero admits similar to OP in numbers.
