Am I out at UT because I'm an out-of-stater? And you think $ at Vandy? Isn't their median LSAT now 169? I was more worried about them than Cornell, actually...
And what if I had tailored my app to Berk?

Berk is hard. i think they really value GPA and maybe softs.... i mean, you can throw them an app, but it's unlikely.Zeile wrote:Am I out at UT because I'm an out-of-stater? And you think $ at Vandy? Isn't their median LSAT now 169? I was more worried about them than Cornell, actually...

Would you suggest any other schools?glitter178 wrote:Berk is hard. i think they really value GPA and maybe softs.... i mean, you can throw them an app, but it's unlikely.Zeile wrote:Am I out at UT because I'm an out-of-stater? I actually HAVEN'T sent my app to UT yet -- thinking maybe spend my money on Fordham instead... Thoughts?

I actually agree with most your thoughts, but out at UCLA, really? I thought they were GPA whores like all the UCs and my LSAT is competitive, too?dissonance1848 wrote:Way too optimistic.

And am I out at UT because I'm OOS? My LSAT is at their median and my GPA is golden for them. Use that app fee on Fordham or maybe BC instead? Or even a reach T14 like Michigan?

I'm wrong on Vandy and UT according to LSN 2009-2010. You have shots at them, although applying now is going to reduce your chances by quite a bit.

Blanket the entire lower T14. Georgetown, Northwestern, Berkeley, Penn and Duke are likely out, but it's non-zero chance. Cornell is a target. Michigan and Virginia are target-to-reach schools.
Also, you do have a decent shot at UCLA (but most of the LSN data points that were in seem to be stronger applicants who also got into multiple T14s).
UT should be fine, and you should be set at Vandy.
P.S. Get those fee waivers!
(Edit: TLS pessimism makes me wish I hadn't posted my acceptances yet, because I probably have weaker numbers than you do (168/3.6) and am in at schools they'd say I should've been out at).

Re: Predict my cycle -- 167 LSAT, 3.92 GPA
Had really similar numbers and applied to some of the same schools so I am guessing:
BU - IN
Cornell - WL
Duke ED - WL or IN but probably WL
UT - Out (if out of state)
UCLA - IN
Vandy - IN or WL
Wash U. - IN
W&M - IN
GWU - IN
Berkeley - Out
You should probably be applying to Mich, NU, GULC, and UVA too.

Re: Predict my cycle -- 167 LSAT, 3.92 GPA
I was waitlisted last year at Vandy and UCLA with a 162 LSAT. Will reapplying hurt or help me at all? Vandy is my desired school and I wrote them a targeted PS explaining how I retook the LSAT and reapplied because I wanted to go there so badly. Thoughts? It's been sent so too late to change anything, but...

Damn, glad I held off on the UT app. I have enough money for one and MAYBE two more apps. I was thinking Fordham instead of UT? But maybe GT or UVA instead? If I have enough for two, maybe GT (one more reach) and Fordham (one more safety)? Thoughts?D-hops wrote:Had really similar numbers and applied to some of the same schools so I am guessing:

Not sure either. Have gotten them from the Berk, NU, and some other T30s. Planning to apply just because.

I'd say try Michigan and UVA instead of Georgetown and UVA. You actually legitimately have a better shot at Michigan than Georgetown and it's a better school (I know you prefer the East Coast; I do too, but for AA seems like a cool place to be anyway).

You'll get in somewhere in the top 14.
