3.25 gpa, any luck at American University
I really want to get into American University, UM, or Penn state!
except there's a BIG issue...
I have been studying for the lsat for the past three months and I just can't seem to get a solid estimate of what my lsat score will be come this Saturday. My scores have ranged from between 143-158. When looking over my practice tests the answers that i seem to have gotten wrong were the ones that I had "almost gotten right" if i had gone with my gut (it was a choice between the correct answer and one other choice). I think i'm thinking too much on the questions. Do you all think i have a chance of getting in to any of those schools or have any recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

Get an LSAT score and I'll tell you. With a 158, no.

See how you feel after taking the test on Saturday. If you think you underperformed, cancel and take it in February.
A 158 won't get you in with that GPA. I'd say you need at least a 160 to stand a chance. The fact that you're applying late will make matters worse.

If you have good softs you can get in. I got in the full time program with a 157, 3.9 UGPA, and grad degree.

I have the same GPA as you, a 163 LSAT and just got in to American. Break 160 and you can do it!

There is a HUGE difference b/w 143 and 158. This is like saying "my income ranges between 5 figures and 7 figures" or "my vehicle ranges between 2 wheels and 4 wheels".Nola09 wrote:My scores have ranged from between 143-158.
If you got a 144, roughly 77% did better than you. If you got a 158, you did better than roughly 77%. Like I said, the difference is huge.
What's your average score? Have you ever surpassed 158? With that GPA, you should be aiming for 164+ for American...
