169/4.0 LSACGPA nonURM / Discip. Problems / No Softs - UCLA?

Post by molomloch » Wed Nov 24, 2010 1:24 pm

I graduated from a lower ranked UC school with a 3.95. Wondering what my chance is at UCLA, Berkeley, similar schools.

Also, can anyone recommend a decent place where I might have a chance at a full-ride?

Oh, and I've got a disciplinary record from Freshmen year (marijuana twice, destruction of property once). My only soft is spending a year studying in Western Europe and speaking a foreign language.

So far I've only been accepted to Texas, but really, really want to go to UCLA/Berkeley.

100% in at UCLA. Berk is probably a no go with weak softs.

Why? You're almost certainly in at UCLA, likely with big $ too. Look how 3.85+/169 fared last year:

Yeah, but how many of those kids had to write an addendum about smokin da herbals and illegally removing posters from an on-campus message board!?

Still have no idea how i got into the U of T. While I'm stoked to have gotten into U of T, I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to hang with the rodeo lovin', urban cowboy crowd over there in Texas. I'm a California boy through and through~

Put together a good app. U might be able to get full rides from the other UCs.

If you want a better shot at berk or stan join TFA or the peacecorp and retake the lsat at some time during.

They weren't posters, they were like flyers related to the price of laundry detergent at the dormitory washroom...

I was drunk you see, but that wasn't part of my write-up. Just destruction of property / failure to identify myself. I didn't get any sanctions / etc for the incident as it was just stupid.

Isnt there a lot of restrictions on the type of detergent you can use in cali/ or is that dish soap. They pollute. Maybe you were just ahead of your time.

You're right. You're the first person to ever have to write an addendum explaining stupid things you did Freshman year. No one has ever had to do this before. Your very high GPA doesn't mean anything. Rethink law school.

Oh, I've rethought it many times. It's a rather foolish idea. What's your rock solid motivation / justification for applying to law school? "LSpleaseee", what a name..

Or was that just an attempt to call me stupid? That's not very nice, now is it "LSpleaseee"?
