What are my chances at Michigan?
URM (AA male), great softs, 3.68 and a 170 lsat in December (hopefully)

My friend had a 3.7GPA and 169 LSAT was able to get into Michigan with $$ last cycle. He was not a URM. If you can pull a 168+ in December, I would be willing to bet money that you'll be freezing your butt off in Ann Arbor on your LSAT one-year anniversary (if that is your choice of course).

An AA male with a 3.6/170 is a mortal lock for Michigan with $$$. In fact, you would have a strong chance at HYS. The only problems would be not applying until January, and of course, ACTUALLY scoring that 170.

I hope so man, I already submitted my app to Michigan, they are waiting for my Dec score. Hopefully that helps a little bit, as it wont take weeks for them to receive all of my application material.

You're black. You don't need anything close to a 170 to be a lock for Michigan with that GPA. But yes, IF you do get a 170 you will be in with $$$.

Here's LSN's data set for URM applicants at Michigan last year. It looks like low 160s would be sufficient with your GPA. Although applying in Jan could throw a wrench in that prediction.

Dont think you need any more responses. Everyone says the same thing, which LSN backs up. Assuming you get your 170, you are a lock with money.
